I AM SO FRICKING EXCITED WITH THE BOOK POST I GOT THIS WEEKEND!!!! Can you tell, if not let the following GIFs speak for themselves, and when you reach the end you'll discover the book that has me jumping around with JOY! 

For those who do not know what this is, it's a GIF full post summing up my reaction to book post. Basically my emotions from placing an order/requesting an ARC/winning an epic giveaway to the anxious wait to finally having the book in my hand.

FREAKS OUT!! Can you believe my luck, I can't even... Like damn I can't wait to sink my teeth into this but plot twist, sadly, alongside Queen of Shadows, I won't be starting either of them till the Christmas holidays because I want to actually relax and enjoy reading both of them and the size of both of them make me so HAPPY. Student life right there! Don't judge meh 

Also to make things 10 times better Leigh Bardugo is coming to Birmingham for a book signing. I mean, the gods must love me because whenever any of my favourite authors come to the UK, it's always places that I can never go too like London, home to all bookish things. I need to move to London now.

Book Reaction Post #4

University bells are ringing, and tomorrow is the day I start something new so why not end this amazing holidays with a book reaction post. for those who do not know what this is, it's a GIF full post summing up my reaction to book post. Basically my emotions from placing an order/requesting an ARC to the anxious wait to finally having the book in my hand. 

After having a full week and a half with no book post I just felt this need to buy something, anything. So off I went and brought a helluva lot of things. Call it a load of presents to myself for starting university. So I brought a few books and little something that I will reveal when it arrives. So I brought two TV tie-in books for TV shows I watch. Again, for those who don't know I LOVE my shows as much as I love my books. Seriously, name any show and I have probably binge-watched it or have watched a few episodes of it or have it written down on my TBW listed - I totally made that abbreviation up . I brought Grimm; Aunt Marie's book of Lore, which is the tie-in for the amazing show Grimm. Also brought Supernatural Book of Monsters, Demons, Spirits and Ghouls and of-course this is the tie-in for my all time favourite show; SUPERNATURAL. I am obsessed with this show. Both books are full of pictures of these supernatural creatures and description and I love them so much. So let get started.

My Summer Reads

With the summer holidays coming to an end, or have already come to an end for some of you, I thought I would compile a list of what I read this summer. This summer has been amazing, I brought a helluva lot of books - no regrets - brought some more, read a lot; out in the sun or in my favourite spot; my bed. I have also been reviewing each book straight away in my blogging notebook. I mentioned this before but for those of you who don't know, I was in a really horrible blogging slump  recently, so one day I decided to write each review down instead of typing them up and it worked and I absolutely love it and now have so many reviews scheduled for the upcoming months which will help me a lot because I'll be starting a new chapter in my life which is; University, so nervous that it's annoying now.

Since I decided to re-launch my Instagram account. which I stopped using for some odd reason, my mind is literally on auto-pilot to take decent bookish pictures, so feast your eyes on My Summer Reads in picture form. May/June Reads - My Summer holidays starts somewhat in the middle of May, so didn't get much reading done because it was final year of college and June was basically me catching up on my sleep haha

July Reads - I call this month, the month of feels, because I read Throne of Glass, The Wrath and The Dawn and A Court of Thorns and Roses in this month so you can understand the less amount of books read, I mean come on, those book killed me, physically and emotionally.

September Reads/TBR - For September I have set myself to read these four books. I have already read Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder and Heir of Fire #3 by Sarah J. Maas. I am currently reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor and I'm loving it so far. I officially start University next week so it's going to be pretty hectic to read, hence the short TBR, but I hope to read An Ember in The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir before I start. An amazing book to end such a wonderful summer holiday. 

Update: I have finished Daughter of Smoke and Bone and oh my god! 

Another Update: An Ember In The Ashes is officially finished and damn, that book was amazing.
Another Update: After finishing An Ember In The Ashes, I picked up another books which is Obsidian #1 by Jennifer L. Armentrout it was amazing I loved every second of that book. Daemon <3

LAST UPDATE: The day before university started I, luckily, started and finished another book, it is Onyx #2 by Jennifer L. Armentrout and OH MY GOD! I NEED ME A DAEMON LIKE... I CAN'T EVEN *swoons* MY HEART

Review

This novel was simply mind-blowing, captivating, always staying one step ahead of the readers. You know a novel was beautifully written when even after finishing it you can't seem to think of anything else. I can still hear Shahrzad's tales in my head, I can still sense the unspoken words between Shazi and Khalid, a bond that needs no defining.

The one thing I did wrong on my part was reading The Wrath and The Dawn straight after finishing Throne of Glass. I did not give myself time to get over what I had read and experienced, basically all the damn FEELS. They simply intensified so much now that I've finished The Wrath and The Dawn. I simply cannot bring myself to pick up another book, I am just in awe of how Renee created such a beautiful world.

I loved the use of the different terminology, though I understood some of them, others I had to look up on the glossary and I loved that. By simply closing my eyes right now I can picture the view from the balcony, the training court, the markets. But that's not all; Renee has written such beautiful and somewhat humorous dialogues that I can remember Shazi's first encounter with Jalal, even with Uncle Salim - which I absolutely loved because Shahrzad didn't need anyone to come to her defense and Khalid knew that. 

Shahrzad; Strong-willed, honest, a great story-teller but moved by anger of the loss of her best friend. Khalid; whom everyone sees as a boy-king but has so much dept that can be seen through Shazi. Tariq; Moved by simple vengeance on the boy-king for taking the one thing he loves, Shazi. From the very beginning I didn't hate Khalid at all. Instead I was willed to see something completely different. He gave Shazi her chance to show she's the Calpha of Rey and show her strength but most of all why she was his everything, his 'Joonam'. With Tariq all we knew he wanted to kill Khalid and save Shahrzad but that's one thing he didn't need to do, because she saved herself, survived the Dawn and found the truth and so much more. But nevertheless I still understood why Tariq or even her dad, Jahandar did what they did and OMG.

Renee Ahdieh has done such a remarkable job bringing such a gripping read for us. I loved the alternating chapters, though at times I simple wanted to read Shahrzad and Khalid's point of view more, they enlightened the readers more. And that shocking discovery at the end, that painful, heartbreaking ending. I simply cannot take my mind off it, AT ALL! Renee what have you done to me. Some parts are heart achingly beautiful and other parts are hilarious, who knew such a combination will render me speechless. A must read for all you Fantasy lovers. I heard this book is going to a duo-logy, if that's true I'm happy and sad but I need The Rose and The Dagger so right now.

Review

When I saw on Bookbridgr that another epic novel by Jennifer E. Smith was being published, ya'll can imagine what happened, right? I can honestly say that I'm not a huge fan of contemporary romance novels, but somehow Jennifer has made her novels so simple and different that made me want to read her novels even more.

On some level I can relate to Clare and Aidan - not the whole breaking up part, come on, my one true LOVES are my books hehe - on moving to a new chapter in your life. The big step; University/College. I am freaking out and to have a book based on adventure, risk taking and starting something bigger, it was a nice break until I remembered reality but see this book - though not all of it- is reality, we all will start something new and it will be crazy as hell.

I really enjoyed reading this book, it was light hearted with some intense moments that were literally all about reality. Though at times I felt that the thoughts Jennifer tried to show us were repeated quite a bit, which kind of lead on a cycle of similar thoughts. But the flashbacks to each place on Clare's list was nice to show the readers the importance of them. And to think the whole novel took place in one night.

I loved each character and how different they were. Clare the practical one, Aidan the optimistic. I loved Scott, he brought humor and Stella was just really honest with everything, especially on how Clare was acting. I found each character really realistic and again Jennifer didn't make the sole purpose of the book to be of the break-up. It focused on friendship, loyalty and facing the truth even though its ugly and not what you want. It's about taking risks like Aidan and college, Clare and the sea, read it and you'll see what I mean.

Jennifer E. Smith has done a great job with this novel, I loved how relatable it is to my current situation. Though at times it was repetitive other aspects helped bring it back up. Seeing Clare, the perfectionist, stray from the list was great, character development right there. Such a quick and enjoyable read. I recommend this to you. Yes, you reading this.
