This is going to be amazing, and I just hope college doesn't clash with it.

Summary

Exiled to the outermost reaches of the universe, Syl and Paul must each make journeys that will lead them to the horrifying truths harbored at the heart of the Illyri Empire. And to force with the power shake the universe to it's very core.

Review

Okay, so the start of October going on to December-ish I knew it was going to all about Empire, the second book in The Chronicles of the Invaders. SO around mid-late October - I have such a bad memory - the UK cover was revealed by the Chronicles Champions and I am simply lost for words, ESPECIALLY for the UK cover. It's very rare - and I have personally experienced this myself - for the UK cover editions to be, well, better than the US. BUT this cover is gorgeous, just look at how amazing it is. I always see covers to fore-shadow what the book is going to be about and I know it's not always true, but in this case it kinda is. Come on, it clearly shows Syl - of course - in another Illyr planet, BUT wait, not just any planet in another weird-ish wormhole, it's the MARQUE...The Sisterhood. And that is how the journey for Syl and Paul begins.

From the way Conquest had ended, leaving us all on such a shocking and totally unexpected cliffhanger, it was a great relief for Empire to pick up from there. Though not exactly in that time frame and location, but non other than Syl getting in a bit of trouble with the "Elite, or Gifted" at the Sisterhood, those amongst the Novices. Conquest had simply provided us the pieces to the puzzle, Empire gave us a chance to find those that were missing or could they have been hidden from mankind? And the Illyr? In Conquest a huge discovery was made with the parasites that fed on human and Illyr life source, but that was just the discovery, what is the true purpose of those organism to be amongst mankind? And what does the Sisterhood, more like Syrene have in mind for Ex-Governor Andrus? All these questions pooling in my mind from just the first couple of chapters. Guys, this is going to be one helluva ride.

Syl and Ani thrust into the sisterhood, embrace it or be wary of what is hidden from the naked eye? Their friendship, sisterhood was being tested, changing course of their loyalty. It killed me seeing both of them changing, evolving to different people into different worlds though they shared living quarters together, they became unaware of each others emotions, and that is what hurt the most, seeing them inseparable in the first book to seeing them so different, and that is something that was risky but it was needed, nothing is perfect. AND THAT ENDING GAH. Paul and Steven given no choice but to be taken from the resistance - an organisation hell bent on defeating those who conquered there world - and sent to the brigade to work amongst those who they once fought against.

What I loved about Empire was that even in this novel, all supporting characters that were introduced in here played a big part in making Paul and Syl in to who they are now. Thula, one crazy and quite humorous guy who trust Paul but not so much of Stevens piloting - oh did I say piloting *hehehe* - Peris, a familiar face who will do anything to save his people, Rizza, one bad-ass shooter and that says it all. Tiray a Illyr who motives are unclear but sooner or later we all find out. We also got to meet previous character who still kicked ass uhmm Meira, boy was I glad we saw more of her, got to know more about her. And she didn't fail to save Syl and Paul at a certain time. No matter how far, or how many planets Syrene the Archmage and Vena the head Sectruit have between them and Syl and no matter how many appearances they have in Empire, they NEVER failed to make Syl's life a living hell. Oh Vena has big plans for Syl Hellias and let's not forget Meira. Oh boy.

There where a numerous amount of amazing parts in Empire, and some very interesting characters who I thought couldn't make themselves reach the list right next to Vena and Syrene, and we all know what kind of list that is. None other than Oriel, lets just say she has not got a soft spot for Syl or anything to do with Syl. And Dessa, sweet sweet, cunning Dessa, GAHHH that was very unexpected, though I was very wary of her and at points shouted at Syl to not trust her. Oh and Tanit, and Sarea ugh SO MANY. Throughout most of the novel there was a lot of information to remember and reference back to make sure you were right, though at some point the information was amazing to read about, again John and Jennifer have done an amazing job added a hint of fantasy to somewhat parts of reality, and it was awesome. But at other parts it was too much to remember.

I loved how Empire didn't focus on Syl and Paul love life, didn't make the bases of this book around that. But much more, which you don't see that often. Though at times, yes they did think about each other but it wasn't every single page. And I like that, they prioritized what was important and the time. Syl uncovering the truth behind the Sisterhood and discovering the First Five, which was somewhat unexpected to what she found and a lot was COMPLICATED than EVER. And Paul, discovering unknown locations and going on suicide missions to find out what Aregeon really is, and what really lies behind all these wormholes and what link it really has with the Sisterhood. Oh how the Sisterhood has taken over and have so many undercover links with the Military, the Corps and how Syrene is about to make one more link to someone who Syl has the only connect left to family. Will Syl be able to save all those she loved from death and destruction? Will Paul be able to save Syl from the hands of the Sisterhood? and what is behind the wormhole that leads to the unknown Derith? I guess they're all about to find out.

Empire - John Connolly and Jennifer Ridyard 4.5 Stars

Mid-Season Finales: Reaction Post

You know it's time for Christmas when all the TV shows are having their mid-season finales. They should rename it "heartbreaking episodes that are going to leave you all in a hug mess and that is what we wanted" yup that pretty much sums up these episode.

The Flash, this was the first mid-season finale I watched and possible the worse decision I made, this was though action packed, it was full of indescribable feels. Everything relate to Barry was crumbling and he was trying his damn hardest to fix everything. Barry isn't the one who suffers, Caitlin has a call from the past to answer, and a heartbreaking one at that too. Dr. Wells you sly, sly, SLY human being. I cannot begin to describe how I feel about him. Reverse Flash, got kind of a ring to it, doesn't it? More faster and more hellbent on defeating Barry EVERY TIME. I don't know how many times I found myself just starring, in shock at what I just saw. January 20th could not come any faster.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGDYINGOFFEELSSOBADLDYINGPAINFULLYSLOWLYTHANALLATONCE. That pretty much sums it up for Supernatural seasons 10 mid season finale. Fi over at Book For Birds and I  live tweeted this episode. And we were both left in horror. Yes there where some bad ass Castiel moments and epic and predictable Winchester moments *cough* food *cough* BUT come on that ending was so, completely uncalled for. "They don't call it HELLATUS for no reason" you know it's all extreme feels when I have to quote myself from a tweet I sent Fi. *shakes head* Oh how Tumblr is so not going to be my safe haven, I'm so expecting a lot of tweets of the Supernatural CRAZY ENDING. -I need more chocolate cake - yup I'm taking out all my frustration on CAKE. *Cries some more*

This episode has got to be possible the most anticipated episode for me, the fact that Skye is having a re-union with her somewhat crazy father and the action revolved around him left like "OMG WTH JUST HAPPENED" and "LEAVE COULSON ALONE" Nobody touches Coulson. This episode was mind-blowing, heart breaking and most of all shocking. I have so many questions, to which I need the answers to, I couldn't dare predict anything on this episode, because I know it would not have done any justice at all to this episode. What a powerful and beautifully shot ending, everything was so mind blowing with how Skye broke out, more powerful and heartbroken because of Trip, OMG Trip. Why are all these season finales heartbreaking how on earth am I going to survive till MARCH. Oh that's right, ITS COMING BACK ON IN MARCH. I'm a complete and utter wreck. And that man at the end with another Diviner and no eyes OMG BIG HINT TO THE INHUMANS. So very exicted for the second half of Agents of SHIELD.

This one is still yet to come, hopefully watch it tonight and have this post updated tomorrow. *waits to be heartbroken yet again" OMG RAS AL GHUL IS COMING TO STARLING CITY. *nervous*

So I couldn't help but update this one now. WHY you ask? BECAUSE WHAT THE FRICKING HELL WAS WITH THIS MID SEASON FINALE, WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU MAKE ME AND FI GO THROUGH THAT. I'M SORRY BUT I AM VERY ANNOYED WITH THIS ENDING. You can't make Oliver say "I love you" to Felicity and make him promise to come back and then do that. This has possibly been the worse mid season finale BECAUSE I know that this is going to be the only thing on my mind every day until it comes back on. One brother will fight to protect his sister, NO MATTER WHAT THE COST. I AM IN SHOCK AND I'M JUST GOING TO STOP HERE BECAUSE I NEED A LOT OF CAKE NOW AND TISSUES AND MY MINION BLANKET. (YES, IN VERY SEVERE CASES I PULL OUT MY MINION BLANKET)

P.S. To Ras Al Ghul, you have somehow managed to push Malcom Merlin and Nick Palmer right to the bottom of my most hated people in Arrow list, and now you reside in the first place. Oh and did I mention there's only three people I hate in this show.

FROM YOURS TRULY, A SERIOUSLY PISSED OFF AND HEARTBROKEN GIRL ( and I'm sure Fi would totally agree with me)

Helloooo, hope all your weekends are going amazing. Unlike me I've been stuck in bed watching re-runs of Supernatural, Agents of SHIELD (love how my phone changes "Shield" to the correct way to this "SHIELD" my phone is finally understanding me YES) and Friends, perks of being ill.

November Wrap up

Okay so this month has been CRAZY, and when I say crazy it's not figuratively, I mean literally all hell loose on this month, especially for me. Including my not so fun reading slump (which I wrote a post about right here) you can tell how the reading went this month, but wait I will not let that take me down, BECAUSE... this month I have met amazing people through twitter and through my blog, and that kind of made the whole reading slump worth while, it gave me more time to focus on other aspects of blogging and being a part of the blogging community. Yes, I'm talking about you Fi over at Books For Birds. Recently Me and Fi started to live-tweet Supernatural the day after it airs in the US, I don't know why but this made the episodes much more fun and enjoyable, hopefully we both will be able to live tweet the next one.

Okay over on to the blogging, I was able to review two books in November; Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick, you can check out my review here and Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch (Still not over this book, oh and after tweeting the amazing Sara about the title for book 2, she said and I quote " I will announce it soon") OMG YESSS this is what I have been waiting for, and you guys can check out my review right here.

I was also tagged by the lovely Fi to do the Bedtime Book tag which you can check out here, I can honestly say this tag was amazing to do, so much fun and definitely made me think. Also after receiving the most awaited book post which was Snow Like Ashes I couldn't help myself but create a Book Reaction Post were I express my feelings to any new book that I receive through the use of a lot GIFs, making this post was amazing and my first one is of Snow Like Ashes and can be found right here and I really hope to make many more in December.

In none blogging news, I finally sent off my UCAS application a few weeks ago AND I have received 3 of 5 offers and one interview for my 4th offer, which I am totally cool about. Yup so not worrying right here, nope. But I am just so glad my UCAS is out of the way, and to all of you who are sending off your UCAS here's some advice; Don't leave it till the very last minute, your personal statement is going to be a pain in the backside, best to start now and take things slowly, I know I got really stressed over it. But you don't do the same. And all the best guys :)

So how was your November Wrap up, have you written one? Link me up to it. I would love to read some blog posts :)

Happy Reading!!!
