Hello, you beautiful people and welcome to my stop on the blog tour for the stunning and heart breaking conclusion of the Snow Like Ashes trilogy; Frost Like Night. It's no hidden secret that this is my most beloved trilogy and my love for this trilogy knows no bounds. Let's not forget my undying love for Theron. On today's stop I bring you all cast soundtracks. Review

I simply do not know where to begin with this review. For those who have been following me know how much I love this trilogy. I read Snow Like Ashes on the day of its release (praise Amazon), and thus began my obsession with this amazing world and mesmerizing characters *cough* THERON. *cough*. I cannot believe it has come to an end. Whenever a series comes to and end its always bittersweet, looking back I can remember every emotion I felt while reading Ice Like Fire; which KILLED ME! My baby THERON. 

Frost Like Night continues on from the very ending of Ice Like Fire. Meira on the run with an unknown ally, and Mather with the Children of the Thaw releasing the Winterians from imprisonment at Ventralli after shit went down with Angra. Yes, the bastard lives. And for those who have read Ice Like Fire know what happened to Theron. Don't make me say it. Let's just say the Decay is a piece of shit. The plot was intense, I read the entire book in one sitting. I couldn't help myself. Throughout it all, people separated, reunited and some became stronger. As always Sara has a great world building, description that plays out like a movie; simply captivating you from the first page.

We meet old and new characters. In Frost Like Night we have 3 POVs; Meira, Mather and Ceridwen. With next to mention or POV of Theron (we'll get back to that soon). Meira evolved, finally understanding her powers and become one with it. She stood her ground and fought courageously for her kingdom. Mather was shown in a new light, becoming what he wasn't in book 1. And despite it being amazing, personally I felt disconnected, it just didn't feel real to me. Ceridwen was amazing! I'm so glad we got her POV. It was enlightening, I ship Ceri and King Jesse so hard. The pain she felt was raw, after the death of Simon, she felt lost. And seeing her progress was amazing, I loved it.

Personally I loved the secondary characters more, felt more towards them then I did towards Meira and Mather, which came as a BIG shock to me because in book 1 and 2 I loved reading about them, especially Meira and Theron. AHHH Theron, he was non existent and it really annoyed me. From being a dorky, lovable BAE in book 1, to a necessary main in book 2 to completely vanishing in book 3. WHUT?! Please, why? I still remember him, shirtless and wielding an axe to becoming the villains minion. I CANT! I love Theron and because he was innocent he was just changed to something he wasn't.

I understand why certain  aspects where carried out in such manner. But I felt sad and disappointed when it came to Theron. He will forever be my axe wielding, dorky BAE. 

Nevertheless, I feel Sara brought a stunning ending to a great and always  favourite trilogy. I cried, I laughed, I was shocked. But ultimately I am grateful for this trilogy to be a part of my life. I loved the sense of community and the introduction of the other season kingdoms was amazing. Prepare yourself for a shocking ride, guard your heart and expect the unexpected. There will be wedding bells, the sounds of battles and the calm after a war has ended as this stunning trilogy comes to an end.

Review | A Torch Against the Night #2 by Sabaa Tahir

There are simply not enough words to describe this book. I tried my best to put off reading this simply because of all the feels that inevitably came with it. When I read an Ember in The Ashes last year, I was shocked and in awe of the world building, the plot, the characters; ELIAS! I was sucked in, but sadly I wasn't satisfied with it. I knew the minute I finished An Ember in The Ashed that I DID want to carry on to see where it all goes, because somehow I became attached to this world and a few characters.

A Torch Against the Night continues from the moment An Ember ends; Laia and Elias on the run, Marcus the Emperor and Helene the Blood Shrike and let's not forget the Commandant aka bat shit crazy. Being on the run was intense, all to get to Kauf, to break out Darius; Laia's brother for he has knowledge that can bring a balance to this battle. But is that really all? The plot was crazy intense, shocking and absolutely incredible. It's not everyday I fall in with a series because of the second book. And I can possibly say is that this book has blown be away and the wait for book 3 is going to be so very agonizing.

We get 3 POVs; Laia, Elias aka BAE and Helene. I really liked Laia and Helene more in this book. Laia was more active, more sure of herself and the development was amazing. I loved Helene, she was so different here, in An Ember she was just hung up on Elias, where as here she was determined and thought of herself and her family. "loyal to the End". Elias, my baby! He went through so much. I can't! He was amazing, so much development it was mind blowing. IM STILL NOT OVER IT.

The unending brilliance of this book is astounding! I read this book in one sitting and I was hysterical, shocked, in tears and awe of the book. Supporting characters where amazing; we meet new and old who are just as badass and lovable as the main. We meet Elias's adoptive mother, who I instantly loved, she was the mother Elias deserved not the Commandant. The tribes where amazing and the sense of community strong. And HARPER. OMG! Guys, there's a new ships I see, and I loved it. I SHIP HELENE AND HARPER AND I DO NOT CARE.

Sabaa Tahir has simply blown me away! This sequel will leave you shocked, heartbroken and unable to determine those plot twists just like a wraith! You will be left craving more and the magic will leave you wanting to know more. If you thought An Ember in The Ashes was amazing you are in for one helluva ride with this book. Are you prepared to meet the new Emperor? Are you ready to learn the secrets of some of you're favourite characters? Are you willing to visit Kauf? Then step inside and guard your heart and prepare to be unmade.

Review

I brought this book in April as a birthday gift for myself after a Fairy Loot Chat took place the night before. I was simply sold on the concept of an Aladdin retelling. I'm a huge fan of re-tellings, so nothing deterred me from buying it the minute it turned 12:01! I don't know why I left it till now to read it, I am simply blown away and I cannot wait to read more by Jessica Khoury. 

The Forbidden Wish starts off with a bang! Long lost kingdom, hidden cave and a simple boy and a lamp. What could possibly go wrong? A LOT. This book is from a first person perspective; Zahra, the wish granted and it was phenomenal. Throughout it all I didn't feel lost or felt disconnected with other characters aka Aladdin. Because Zahra was always there, in one form or another, showing us what's going on. The plot was intense and heartbreaking. If it's not the plot, then Jessica's magical writing will suck you right in. The writing style was unique and alluring, captivating and breathtaking. It all played out in my head; I could picture the Jewel garden, I could feel the despair Zahra felt, the helplessness of Aladdin, but above all the glimmer of hope and freedom.

The characters where phenomenal. I instantly fell in love with Zahra and Aladdin. They somehow balanced each other out. And their love was a slow burn, not instant but gradually building and I felt it all, the change, denial and acceptance as if I was right there when Zahra conjured a ship, taught Aladdin the proper eloquence of being a regal. Let's not forget when Aladdin got kidnapped; which was hilarious because of who kidnapped him. 

Jessica has taken this tale and woven it to become more. The immense power each female introduced in here had was amazing. Zahra being an all powerful Jinni, flawed; yes, but she took no shit from anyone. The we have Princess Despida; strong-willed, haunted by the past but ready to make the future a better place for her people. Together, they where badass and a force to be reckoned with, but was it as easy as that to become one force?

Jessica has done an absolute phenomenal job with this retelling. It was nice to read a standalone for once. To create a book set both in past and present was amazing, not once did I feel lost. It was heartbreaking to see Zahra's past unfold and to learn the real truth behind the fall of Queen Roshana. Their relationship was one of which sisters have. Are you prepared to face a magical retelling of Aladdin? Are you ready to meet characters that will blow you away as well as make you love them immensely? Are you willing to meet the King, the most feared and hated; Shaitan? But what part does he play... Find out as you step inside the mind of a powerful Jinni Zahra; will she betray as all Jinni's are made to or will she break free of the chains that hold her? Once I had devoured Empire (book 2) I was in need of the third and final book immediately. I needed to see how it would all end for Syl, Paul, Ani, Steven and even the Archmage Syrene. A couple weeks ago I emailed the lovely Elizabeth to find out a release day. Sometime later I, alongside all the other Chronicles Champions, received a review copy and I had devoured straight away it and literally could not come up with a single coherent sentence but now I am, so bare with me guys. 

Dominion follows on from the great escape from Erebos. Syl and Paul alongside his Nomad crew take the most dangerous wormhole where no living person has returned. And Ani remains in the midst of all the bloodshed, with a single promise; to bring the sisterhood back to its rightful name. Looking back at Conquest and the naivety of the main characters really breaks my heart. To see how quickly they had to grow, evolve and adapt was shown and written amazingly. The changes Ani and Syl went through, becoming something no human or Illyr would even consider played a huge role. Steven was a much more active member, I mean having his own ship, crew and doing a helluva lot more *claps hands* job well done. Paul adapted well, becoming more determined and strong, but will that be enough?

We get a lot on supporting characters; Vena, Trask, Fremd, Meia - my favourite mech - and so many others. One thing that truly disappointed me was the less chapters from the point of view of Syl and Paul. From gaining so much through them in Conquest and Empire to not much at all in Dominion was a let down. That's not to say it's not understandable, we're getting insight from the Marque, Earth, Erebos, to different ships; it was insightful and just what was needed to make up for the loss of their POVs. After all war was everywhere, not on just one planet. not just between two entities for there is a third hidden in the midst, and much more powerful.

John and Jennifer have a done a great job bringing this trilogy to an end. Though I expected certain characters to play a much bigger role in the end and not have what happened to said characters. The ending was promising, which left enough for the imagination. Syl and Ani's relationship was something that kept this book together and Syrene, well that is something worth reading on your own. I love the concept of the future with the chapters showing what lead to 'so and so's' actions. It took on a different attempt with this, though it was a tad dangerous to do with the final book, they both took caution and created something unique and incredible. Though the descriptive aspect did go slightly overboard at time, the action, fights and decisions that were made, made up for it. The build up was amazing, took some unexpected turns. Nevertheless an amazing ending to the Chronicles of the Invaders trilogy. I will truly miss this world.

Review

Can we all take a long ass moment to appreciate the queen that is V.E. Schwab! I mean, to bring us both A Dark Shade of Magic and now This Savage Song, alongside Vicious and The Archived! You wouldn't expect them all from one author; how do you do it? Tell us you secret! I kinda left off reading this book because before this I read A Gathering of Shadows and that cliffhanger killed me. But I picked it up and devoured it whole and IT WAS AMAZING. 

This Savage Song is from both Kate Harker and August Flynn POV and guys, it was mind-blowing. Kate and August are heirs to the divided Verity City; Kate Harker sets out to make herself as bad and ruthless as possible, and she does such a good job, all to get fathers attention and respect but mostly to just come home! Schwab had beautifully shown that there are two sides to everything, like Kate; badass, ruthless person and the alone, lonely daughter who lost the most precious thing; her mother. August Flynn, my sweet cinnamon roll, I just wanted to give him a hug because he is adorable, lost and he doesn't want to be a monster! He never once gave up on being human, regardless of what others said!

Schwab had woven such a captivating story about monsters, some just as described and others not so much. With the truce close to breaking; everyone - monsters and humans are on edge. But that's not all, we are shown that it's not just monsters vs humans, but humans against humans. I loved that not all the monsters where painted as monsters and not all humans painted as the victims, let alone innocent of killing.

The world building was fantastic, though it took me a while to get in to the first 40 pages, after I was in full swing of Verity city. Now to the plot; there was little plot to follow. It was either proving your worth of Harker's protection or proving you're ready for the outside world. What really captivated me was the flawless writing that instantly grabbed and didn't let go. Kinda like the sweet song of a Sunai - I did not just... I did. (I think I loved Sunai's more than anything)

V.E. Schwab had blown me away, once again. I liked the growing friendship between Kate and August, if you would call it that. I loved the fact there was no love interest, that the threats against both humans and monsters were taken more serious and not pushed aside. Supporting character where equally amazing and creepy as fuck! Some twists I didn't see coming at all. I cannot wait for book 2, next year needs to hurry up. Now, step inside Verity City and learn what it truly means to be human and monster, but is there any difference?

I'M BACK!!! You may or may not have noticed that I have been absent from blogging, and it killed me but university got pretty intense and though I have been off for summer break since the second week into June, I've since been catching up with sleep, trying to read but mostly netflixing. Also, can you believe I was in slump. DAMMIT. But never fear it is finally over.

For those who do not know what this is, it's a GIF full post summing up my reaction to book post. My emotions from placing an order/requesting an ARC/winning a giveaway to the anxious wait to finally having the book in my hand. Recently started doing these posts for merchandise and movie reactions too.

YES!!!! I'm my very presence I have my own destruction waiting. I mean after that shocking, gut wrenching ending of Ice Like Fire *shudders* I cannot fathom what Frost Like Night has in store. And did I mention there's apparently "MAJOR DEATHS". Ahh hell no Sara, please let this just be a weird, not so funny, sad joke. PLEASE. I BEG YOU. I'm so not prepared for this trauma. I have a gut feeling that said thing above has to do with one of my beloved characters and if it is I will die of anger and pain and so much suffering. 
DO YOU SEE HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS TRILOGY!!!! Seriously, I recommend it to all.   Thank-you Harper 360 for this epic ARC that may be my ultimate death, and I'm okay with that.

Review

You know a book is really good when you finish it in a day, yes I finished this book in a few hours and it was phenomenal. What really captured my attention was the fact it was based in Russia and during the Tsar rein. Yes, I may know a little history but only a little, I blame my history teacher at college who made me hate it. There aren't many books based in Russia, besides the Grisha trilogy, from what I can remember. 

Okay, this book starts off in a bakery. You will be hooked from the first chapter because those sweet confectionery are legendarily described. And they are a constant throughout the whole novel *YUM*. The whole world building was fantastic, I mean I want to go Russia now. Evelyn has amazingly set out each scene, the atmospheres so vivid and clear, literally played out like a movie in my head. The Crown's Game was created to see who is worthy of being the Tsar's enchanter, sounds a lot like a battle, but in fact it was a competition of impressing the future Tsar; Pasha. 

The characters were very interesting. Vika, a strong willed, fierce red head who was brought up believing to be the only one to have magical abilities, and would become the Tsar's enchanters upon the right age. Nikolai, an orphan, fighting for the one thing in his reach; to become the enchanter. Both so different, wielding such opposite and equally mesmerizing magic. The magic was so vividly described, each of their turns were so amazing and better each time, and the burning marks *shudders*

Though The Crown's Game is based around Vika and Nikolai, we also have Pasha; heir to the throne and Nikolai's best friend. Pasha was a great addition point of view, especially to see what life is like inside the palace as the heir. Though we go into the novel with the knowledge of a love triangle,  I personally didn't enjoy reading it. Though it's not actively the most dominant aspects, I just don't like love triangles. Then we have Renata, she was great and caring but again I felt she wasn't much needed, unless she has a bigger role in book 2, then I am quite intrigued.

This book is an amazing debut and Evelyn has officially become my favourite author. And after that ending, which physically and emotionally killed me, book 2 needs to come quick because I need to know. I NEED TO KNOW!!! With absolutely mind-blowing magic, a sub plot that will shock you so bad, Evelyn brings you a breathtaking, Russian based novel that will leave you wanting more and more NIKOLAI!!

Review | A Gathering of Shadows #2 by V.E. Schwab

Summary

Four months have passed since the shadow stone fell into Kell's possessions. Four months since his path crossed with Delilah Bard. Four months since Rhy was wounded and the Dane twins fell, and the stone was cast with Holland's dying body through the rift, and into Black London.

In many ways, things have almost returned to normal, though Rhy is more sober, and Kell is now plagued by his guilt. Restless, and having given up smuggling, Kell is visited by dreams of ominous magical events, waking only to think of Lila, who disappeared from the docks like she always meant to do. As Red London finalizes preparations fro the Element Games - an extravagant international competition of magic, meant to entertain and keep healthy ties between neighboring countries - a certain pirate ship draws closer, carrying old friends back into port.

Review

I honestly feel as though I forgot how to breathe throughout this book! What is this sorcery, Schwab? I knew this book was going to mentally and physically torture me, but it beat A Darker Shade of Magic by ten folds - and I don't say that lightly. There's more action - on land and at sea, thanks to our very own wannabe pirate, Lila Bard.

Kell, my sweet cinnamon roll and Rhy, my other sweet cinnamon roll. They both slay me. Above all, brother relationships, also known as BrOTP ships kill me, I love them. Kell and Rhy are right there on the BrOTP level - right next to Blue and Ronan, Khalid and Jalal and countless others. A Gathering of shadows was more more character centered and I enjoyed it - we get more perspective from our beloved, roguish prince, Rhy and a new-comer - Lila's Captain, Alucard. Who isn't all he seems and has quite the history with my BrOTP - and holy shit it's an intense history that I did not expect but loved it.

The plot was stunning and gut-wrenching, clearly no matter how much you scream at the book... THEY WON'T LISTEN, HOW RUDE!!! If you need/want a book that will most definitely steal your heart and soul, and run away with them, then this book is just the right thing for you. I certainly expected *BEEP* to make a comeback, and boy was that some comeback! Oh, the pain, it won't leave. We learn so much more of all the London's and the past of the characters, and the witty banter slayed me so many times.

Schwab has done it again, and I'm not even surprised. I bet even her grocery list is just as eloquent as these books - I will read anything written by Schwab. To think this is the first book Schwab has written a cliffhanger for - why though? *cries buckets of tears* There's so many scene that bring back the pain and consequences of the events in A Darker Shade of Magic, and you see those changes mostly in Kell and Rhy A Gathering of Shadows brings forth the elemental game between the three countries - to keep the peace alive. It's book reaction time, and I for one am SO excited for this book. Last week it was my birthday and I turned the big 20, and I can gladly say that has not changed my love for books. I mean who cares about responsibilities, am I right? Moving on, I ordered this book the minute the clock turned 12:01am, this book is one of my all time favourite genre and has me so ready for Summer, because I will be thoroughly enjoying it then instead of reading it now amongst assignment deadlines and exam revision.

You may be wondering why are all the GIFs of Friends, Parks and Rec and The Office? Well, that is because Anissa, a very good friend and founder of the amazing Fairy Loot subscription box (which you can check out here) and I love these shows and it was because of the first Fairy Loot chat I ordered this book straight away, I mean I was already planning on buying it but the chat kind of made me skip a few weeks of waiting. Review

Where to start with this review? This is the first book I have read written by the talented Cinda Williams Chima and definitely not the last. When this book first arrived I was beyond ecstatic because the synopsis really stole my heart. Then I started reading it, I couldn't stop, I finished reading this book in two sittings and I truly regret reading so fast because a) this books is releasing only TODAY and b) the wait for book 2 is really, really long. Now do you understand my pain? No? Wait till you read this book. 

The characters were absolutely fantastic, there is so much development with some that it really made the book more intense. I love Ash, though he's just a healer - a bloody good one at that - he accomplished so much. From so much loss, despite the anger, he stuck to his promise and went through hell, literally. Jenna was a really great character, it was nice to see a different perspective; from the Delphi, a place where miners live, earn and work. Her story was so intriguing, the different identities she took on added to the mystery that is Jenna - the girl with the Magemark on her neck, that has the most powerful people hunting her. I felt that Ash and Jenna didn't meet as soon as I expected, I mean they don't meet till half the book is over, which doesn't help with their relationship evolving. 

We meet other characters; Lila, someone who lives a life full of secrets, and the twist that happened with her - well, I did not see it coming at all. Destin Karn, son of general Marin Khan - one scary son of a bitch - who treats his son like shit, which really irritated me SO much. Destin was an interesting character, his role at first wasn't clear and honestly I didn't see the point of him then, but then certain events take place that changed that perspective and kind of made it slightly confusing. I need more Destin, I mean what is his role?! SO MANY QUESTIONS. 

The plot was absolutely gripping, mind-blowing and phenomenal. Cinda's writing made everything so vividly clear; I could picture Delphi, the mountains of Fell, the Kings stables and so much more. I loved Ash's relationship with the animals and the dragon. YES, there are dragons and pirates - I LOVE PIRATES! Though I kind of sense something odd about said dragon. I loved the mystery behind Jenna's background, though it's not all revealed. I need book 2, like right now! I personally felt Jenna and Ash's relationship wasn't expanded on, it was too rushed and I hope, HOPE we see more development and PLEASE no love triangles. 

Cinda, you have done a phenomenal job with this first novel in the Shattered Realm series. This book is everything I expect in a fantasy novel. I hope to see more on the Fells and Celestane. The events were quite abrupt at the end and kind of not what I expected, but still that epilogue has be SO intrigued for book 2. This book has a young boy who has lost so much but hasn't lost hope, a girl who wears identities as masks; worlds collide. Will Ash be able to keep that promise? Will Jenna be able to escape all attempts of imprisonment for a mark she has no clue about? Find out, in this mind-blowing, captivating series start; Flamecaster.

I haven't done a Book Reaction Post in such a long time and I feel a part of me has been missing, because who doesn't like searching the internet for funny and heartbreaking GIFs that sum up our feels over books? Well, nevertheless this book has been my most anticipated read ever since I read the first book, I keep reprimanding myself for not reading this trilogy earlier but then I would have suffered the heartbreak that the first book brought upon me when I finished it.

Yes, it is the gorgeous, more anticipated The Winner's Kiss. I class this book as a pre-birthday gift, however I won't be able to read it till after 10th April because my mom won't give me The Winner's Crime (book 2) till the day of my birthday. And yes, I have tried getting her to give the book early but she will not relent. Nevertheless I am excited and most happy to have the 3rd book in my possession. ALSO THOSE COVERS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!

Review

For as long as I can remember, for some odd reason this book was just sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. Now I can only reprimand myself for not reading it the minute I brought it. This book is one that needs to be devoured whole. I finished it over two days and it is the most beautifully written novel I have read of 2016. SO DAMN GOOD!

I loved Kell. His character was easily likable and I connected with him quickly. The insight we got through his character was amazing, seeing all the different London's from an Antari's perspective was so well written - though Kell does make some questionable decisions. I absolutely adored Kell and Rhy's relationship, it was endearing to read of it and how different they are. Then we have Delilah Bard, commonly known as Lila. Her character was just as amazing, so completely different to Kell. Living as a thief on the streets of Grey London just to survive. Sadly I didn't connect with her instantly but gradually she became just as dear as the rest. Though at times she did come off as pushy and demanding. Her character does develop through the novel and I cannot wait to read more on Kell, Rhy, Lila and a little birdy called Holland. 

The plot was fantastic. It was mind-blowing, whirl-winding and absolutely shocking. Schwab has rendered me speechless with such an enthralling and now one of my favourite novels. So much action, fighting, death and murder. There wasn't too much of anything or less, it was the perfect blend. I could feel the terror and the emotions, the anguish running through Kell when he discovered what was in the package and ensuring it didn't fall in the wrong hands *cough* The Dane Twins. Rulers of White London - also knows as creepy-blood-thirsty-horrible twins who I hate so much. They play a huge role and I could sense the rot and horror off them the moment Kell met them.

Each London was amazing, the history behind each was so enlightening on what really happened, especially to Black London. Schwab has done such a remarkable job with this book and I cannot wait to read A Gathering of Shadows. Though at times the descriptive aspect of the book did get too much at times, the plot and amazing characters balanced it out. In a world where there are more than one London's, an unlikely alliance will rise to stop the rebirth of what was long ago destroyed. With Kell and Lila survive this dangerous adventure?

The Book Chapter | Blogoversary #2

Great job, Shazina you're only 5 days late announcing the amazing news that your blog has turned 2. Bravo! I have failed myself and this blog, though I do not intend to stop blogging because of university, I knew the consequences of not blogging enough or even reviewing specific books on time. Well, enough about that, I just wanted to write a quick and short post expressing my gratitude for all you readers and followers of my blog. I am currently in bed nursing a killer headache, throat-ache and this morning high temperature has been added to that list. YAY

Nevertheless, during my time of blogging I have met some amazing people that now that I think about it I cannot go a day without talking to them through; Twitter, Whatsapp, personal messages and Instagram. The book community is absolutely phenomenal and I love every single one of you. A few of those epic peeps are; Zoe and Fi, though Fi has once again dropped off the face of the planet, we will meet again and Zoe, you always lift me up when the stress gets all too real. Alisha and Naz; our Twitter convo's never seize to amaze me and our 'love' for Shadowhunters is hilarious... ALEC IS BAE! You both are amazing and I can always count on you to make me laugh with GIFs. (GIFs are the way to my heart... Just saying). Sally; our love for The Prince of Thorns trilogy is unbelievable and I am so glad we have joined forces to express our undying love for Jorg and Makin. If I have forgotten anyone please forgive me, this high temperature is not helping at all *sigh*

During the second year of blogging I made a promise to myself that I would attend more book signings and more book events. I am so glad to say that I did, I meet the amazing Leigh Bardugo late last year and I recently met the handsome Pierce Brown and boy were both those events fricking fantastic. Met some amazing Howlers; Jenny and Tia who were so amazing in their epic Howler cosplay. The second year of blogging has been absolutely surreal. I have worked with more publishers this year and each and every publisher/agent out there has made this experience so memorable. 

And of course, a big shout out to all the authors out there that made me start blogging and the ones who have interacted with me on numerous occasions. You guys rock!

The Time I Met...

For those who do not know - and I question why, severely - the amazing and quite handsome Pierce Brown came to the UK for his first book tour, shortly after the release of the amazing and simply mind-blowing conclusion to the Red Rising trilogy; Morning Star. And if you have not read this trilogy yet, well, what are you waiting for?!

Some time earlier this month I found out Pierce was coming to the UK, I reserved my seat and everything. Then I was invited to the party over at Hodder HQ before the book signing. I fangirled hard, mentally sort through everything that needed to be done. And then the ultimatum happened; I found out I had exams on both days and I got the dates mixed up. Dammit! Sadly, wasn't able to attend the party but no matter what happened I was going to the book signing and it was spectacular. 

I was lucky to be seated on the second row and to make it even more amazing nobody sat in the seat in front so my view was very much open and clear. Just before the event started I met up with two awesome howlers; Jenny and Tia who were absolutely amazing and we spoke none stop about Morning Star and all that had occurred with our loved characters. Also, they came in the best Howler cos-play. 

The Q&A was hilarious, insightful and just showed how down to earth Pierce Brown is. The reasoning behind the creative swearing in the books was just too good, and the HAT OF DEATH... Pierce knows exactly what I'm referring too. The event then went on to the Geek Trivia; Pierce and a chosen ally from the audience against us Howlers. It was a close call, and damn Pierce is very competitive. Behold the following pictures that show how intent Pierce was on winning. Too cute and hilarious.

After a very, very close call,  the Howlers won! Then it was time for the book signing to start, luckily being at the very front meant I was one of the first to met Pierce. It was absolutely amazing talking to Pierce, we spoke about my favourite part which for me was a part from Morning Star between Darrow and Sevro (my favourite characters). Then I went on to talk, more like reprimand Pierce for how Golden Son ended AND a BIG little something that occurred in Morning Star that left me in a state of fear and shock and feels. Pierce found my ordeal hilarious and was quite proud at succeeding in his torture. Well played, Pierce Brown.

And finally, the books I got signed. I also got Pierce to sign my Howler bag because why not, it is not in the picture because I forgot, oops. Also, that is the tattoo that wouldn't stay on my hand, so I took it off and placed in Morning Star, looks quite good.

Hope you all enjoyed my rambling about this epic event and lived vicariously through this post, Waterstones is amazing and the renovations look absolutely spectacular. They also have a few signed copies of the Red Rising trilogy, just saying.

Review

*Deep Breath* Where on Earth do I start with this book? I honestly thought leaving the review for a couple of days (*cough* weeks) will help me gather all my thoughts. Did that work? HELL NO! It still feels like I just finished reading it and that last line, that last brutal line. Though it was only 2 words, it broke me so badly that I ended up throwing the book to the other end of my bed. Readers reflexes are indeed a thing, they protect you from pain - mine just happened to work 2 seconds late. 

Glass Sword starts off from the very second Red Queen ended. Which surprised me a bit but quickly recovered because it jumped straight into action, running and more running. What I like about Victoria Aveyard's writing is the intense need to read word for word because anything could happen and I mean ANYTHING quite literally.

We meet new and old characters, some intense and others a sight for sore eyes. Farley was amazing, from how she was in Red Queen to now, her character development is worth singling out. I LOVE SHADE! He was so incredible and nice and ASFGHJKL - no comment. Cal was hot as ever - his powers, guys come on... Okay, in that sense too. The struggles he faces are well bottled up, and it physically pained me to read. Mare was bad-ass as ever, but more impulsive, more in need to beat Maven, which is totally understandable. I mean, I want to beat him senseless! Also TEAM CAL AND MARE. ALL THE FEELS. 

There are so many new characters that are equally as bad-ass and some quite annoying but bearable - slightly. I personally feel that 2/3 of the novel was much needed to be as it was, to be set a few paces back for readers to soak in all the information and remember each face, each EPIC new powers. (Victoria, you are the Queen of creating amazing powers. I mean, I want those powers) But when the action happened I was left teetering on the edge of my seat, all snacks forgotten. It was full on jaw dropping and OH MY GOD. I'm still in awe of everything and just typing up this review is bringing it all back. Though it irked me slightly how we didn't get much on Maven and his evil, manipulative mother - understandable considering it is a 1st person novel - I still wanted to know what they were up too, but the element of surprise was not lost on me. NOT ONE BIT. Though a little something does happen that took me completely by surprise. I mean no buildup, no nothing just BAM it happened. And I'm not sure how I feel about it just yet. 

Victoria Aveyard, where do I begin to say thank-you for this amazing, heart-breaking, gut wrenching squeal? All I can say is this book will grip you tight until that last sentence is read and etched into your brain. You will most definitely need tissues, a lot of ice-cream when finished and a few days ready to tweet in caps lock to vent out all your feels. I need book 3 so badly, the need is intense but I also cannot wait for Cruel Crown, the two novellas. Which is already published in the US *sad face* Nevertheless I have never pre-ordered something so fast in my life. It is releasing in April in the UK, my birthday month. Coincidence? I think not.
